I founded Ann LeConey Interiors over forty years ago with a simple goal: to create spaces that are as elegant as they are livable. From the beginning, my work has been rooted in the belief that decorating isn’t just about beauty—it’s about listening, understanding, and translating someone’s life into a space that feels deeply personal and entirely their own.
My path to design wasn’t linear. I began in finance, but it was in the evenings—arranging furniture, collecting blue-and-white porcelain, reimagining every room in my home—that I found my calling. I was lucky to train with extraordinary mentors like Mario Buatta and Betty Sherrill, who taught me that rooms should have a sense of history, humor, and above all, harmony. I carry those lessons into every project I take on.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with remarkable clients—families, creatives, executives—many of whom have become lifelong friends. Whether I’m designing a Manhattan apartment, a Palm Beach retreat, or a country house on the East End, I bring the same thoughtful approach: a love of color, a respect for tradition, and a healthy appreciation for the occasional leopard-print pillow.
I don’t follow trends, and I never have. My goal is to create timeless rooms filled with charm, comfort, and character—spaces that feel like they’ve evolved over time, even if they came together in six months. If you love it, it works. That’s the rule I live by, and it’s served me—and my clients—very well.
